Bloxstrap Features

Bloxstrap is packed with features that enhance and customize your Roblox experience

Fast Flag Editing

Access and modify Roblox’s internal FastFlags settings to optimize graphics performance and enable experimental features: Graphics performance tuning, Experimental feature access, Performance optimization flags and Advanced rendering options

Activity Tracking

Activity tracking is a feature in Bloxstrap that allows for the detection of user actions in Roblox. It is mainly used for monitoring the game progress and enabling features like Discord Rich Presence and server information viewing.

Custom Mods

Bloxstrap supports custom mods, which means that you can apply any mod that you want to Roblox, as long as it is compatible with Bloxstrap. Bloxstrap comes with some pre-installed mods, such as a custom fonts, old character sounds, and a custom cursor, but you can also download and install other mods from the internet, or create your own mods with some coding skills.

File Modifications

This feature allows you to customize your Roblox client files and keep them unchanged even after Roblox updates. For example, you can re-add the old death sound, change the loading screen, or modify the user interface.

Multiple Instances

Multiple Roblox game instances are a feature that lets you run more than one Roblox game at the same time. Multiple Roblox game instances can be useful for testing and developing games, as well as for playing different games or modes simultaneously.

Customizable Launcher

The launcher is the interface that you use to start Roblox and access its settings. The launcher is an important part of your Roblox experience, as it determines how you interact with Roblox and how Roblox looks and feels.

Region Checker

Bloxstrap has a region checker, which shows you the region of the Roblox servers that you are playing on, or the servers that you are about to join. You can also use the region checker to filter the servers by region, or to switch to a different region. The region checker can help you find the best servers for your location and preferences. Lower your ping by connecting to the server closest to you, or join friends in other regions for special events. Bloxstrap makes region-switching easy—great for international play or when Roblox auto-matches you to a laggy server.

Discord Rich Presence

Bloxstrap adds Discord Rich Presence to Roblox, which allows you to display your game name, icon, and server ID on your Discord profile. You can also invite your Discord friends to join you in Roblox, or join them if they are playing Roblox. Bloxstrap also supports custom Discord Rich Presence, which lets you customize your game status and icon with your own text and images.

Game & Server Tracking

Instantly see which Roblox game and server you’re connected to—no more guessing! Know where you are, what game instance you’re in, and even which region’s server is hosting your session. This helps you avoid lag, troubleshoot connection issues, and play with friends on the same server more easily.

Presets

Save your favorite Roblox settings (graphics, mods, themes, controls) as one-click presets. Quickly switch between low-latency settings for competitive gaming, high graphics for visuals, or custom setups for different users on the same PC. Never waste time reconfiguring each time you launch.

Advanced Customization

Unlock extra settings: UI tweaks, scripting hooks, launch options, and more for power users. Create shortcuts, automate your favorite Roblox routines, and access beta or experimental features before anyone else. Easily reset to defaults at any time.

Safe & Open Source

100% open-source code, reviewed by the community and security researchers—no hidden spyware or unwanted extras. You (and your parents!) can always see exactly what Bloxstrap does. It’s trusted by developers and safe for kids, schools, and privacy-conscious users.

Futuristic control for Roblox — Modding

Bloxstrap allows for modding the Roblox client for the main purpose of customisation, though in a very limited way.

The Roblox game client stores some of its core assets locally in a folder, and they can be edited. Things like character sounds, mouse cursors, fonts, textures etc. Modding is just changing these files to be what you want. It’s harmless, purely cosmetic, and any changes you make are local to you only.

You can do this without Bloxstrap, but any edits you make to the assets will be gone when Roblox updates. Doing it through Bloxstrap prevents that, and that’s the key feature.

Using Bloxstrap’s modding system is a little complicated, so there are presets that you can use for some common needs, like fonts and mouse cursors.

Finding mods to use

GameBanana is a good place to find some. Just keep in mind that some may not work properly, since Roblox updates may break them.

Besides that, there isn’t a specific place for them and they’re typically shared around on a community basis.

Importing downloaded mods

When you download a mod, you should get it in a .zip archive.

Open it, and look around until you find folders named ‘content’ or ‘ExtraContent’ or ‘PlatformContent’. Then, just drag them over into the mods folder.

Importing multiple mods

If you’re importing multiple mod packs, you must extract them all into the same main mods folder. This also means that some mods can conflict with each other. Windows should tell you if that happens since it’ll ask you about overwriting files when trying to import them.

Unfortunately, because of the ‘one big merged folder’ solution that Bloxstrap currently uses, you cannot easily remove mods selectively. You may need to either find and delete the specific files that are part of the mod, or clear everything out and start fresh.

Making your own mods

Essentially, the mods folder (located at Bloxstrap\Modifications) functions as an overlay of the Roblox client folder (located at Bloxstrap\Versions\version-{id}).

Whenever Roblox is launched, all of the Mods folder gets copied into the client folder. So, you need to put your edited files in the Mods folder in the correct places.

First off, you need to look for something to mod. Open the mods folder, then go up one folder, and go down into the Versions folder. You should end up somewhere like here:

Take a look around the content folders, and find something to replace. Once you have, place the modded version of the asset inside the Mods folder, while matching the folder structure of the client folder.

For example, replacing the death sound, which is located at content\sounds\ouch.ogg. With the modding system, the file placement must look something like this:

  • DirectoryBloxstrap
    • DirectoryModifications
      • Directorycontent
        • Directorysounds
          • ouch.ogg < Your version of the file
    • DirectoryVersions
      • Directoryversion-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx < Roblox client folder
        • Directorycontent
          • Directorysounds
            • ouch.ogg < Original Roblox version, keep intact

You’ll see that when the mods folder gets copied to the content folder, your version of the file will overwrite the original Roblox version.

The Mods folder is empty by default. You must make and name new folders in the Mods folder as needed.

Locations of interest

What’s herePath
Mouse cursorscontent\textures\KeyboardMouse\Cursors\
Character soundscontent\sounds\
Fontscontent\fonts\
Avatar editor backgroundExtraContent\places\Mobile.rbxl
Surface texturesPlatformContent\pc\textures\

It should be noted that you cannot replace individual icons, at least not easily, since Roblox stores them in sprite sheets. Modding them is not recommended, since the locations of the icons change frequently with Roblox updates.

Distributing mods

Mods should be distributed in a .zip archive. We recommend using 7-zip for this.

First, ensure that only the files needed are in the mods folder, since it’s easier to handle things this way. Copy the other files somewhere else temporarily (including the ClientSettings folder).

Then, select everything in the mods folder, right-click, and create a .zip archive from it.

In most cases, you’re probably only zipping one folder, and that’s fine. Rename the .zip archive once created.

The reason why you want to create it this way is so that the mod files are in the root of the .zip archive. That way, there’s less confusion about how a user extracts the archive into the folder.

Engine settings

Bloxstrap allows you to tweak specific parameters of the Roblox game engine that you normally cannot change, which it does through the Fast Flag system.

Exclusive fullscreen

This is always enabled it by default. Normally, Roblox fullscreens in borderless windowed mode. With Bloxstrap, you can use Alt+Enter to enter true fullscreen mode.

Using this might give a small performance boost, since Roblox gets full control of your screen instead of just being a window.

Using this comes with some downsides!

You cannot see server location notifications from Bloxstrap
Popout windows in the Roblox app will not work (for browsing servers and badges, etc)
You may encounter GPU quirks (VSync, weird resolutions, mouse cursor not showing)
To avoid all this, just fullscreen normally without using Alt+Enter.

Preserving rendering quality

If your Windows display scaling is greater than 100%, then Roblox will decrease its rendering resolution. Enabling this will prevent that from happening.

Fast Flags

The Engine Settings options work by using Roblox’s Fast Flag system.

It’s a system for Roblox engineers to dynamically modify the game engine without needing to push a full update, typically for A/B testing or for feature rollouts. All Fast Flags and their behaviour are defined by Roblox engineers.

Roblox loads a huge list of them online when it starts up. However, they can be locally overriden too, and that’s what Bloxstrap is doing.

Realistically, this is only intended to be used by Roblox engineers for local testing. However, we think it can present some really useful functions in some cases, especially in some places where we think Roblox falls short in (like advanced graphics options), so we have them here.

Since September 30th 2025, Roblox has selectively whitelisted what Fast Flags can be applied to the client (Devforum announcement). Many of Bloxstrap’s options (the Fast Flag editor and many presets) have been removed.

Activity tracking

Activity tracking is a component of Bloxstrap that lets it run in the background and detect what game you’re playing.

This feature serves as the basis for a few other features:

  • Discord Rich Presence
  • Server location hints
  • Game history
  • Don’t exit to Desktop app
  • To use these features, activity tracking will need to be enabled.

When it’s enabled, Bloxstrap will stay running in the background while you’re playing, and it’ll show in your system tray. Right-clicking on the tray icon will bring up a menu where you can use its features.

Clicking ‘Copy invite deeplink’ will copy a shareable invite link for your server to your clipboard. This link can be used by anyone with Roblox installed, even players who don’t have Bloxstrap.

Some options may not be shown if you’re not currently in a game.

Discord Rich Presence

Note: This feature requires activity tracking to be enabled. The Discord desktop app must be installed and running for this to work.

Bloxstrap can make your Discord profile show what game you’re playing on Roblox as an activity. It looks something like this.

The ‘Join server’ button allows for anybody who can see your activity to join your server, but this can be disabled.

You can also choose to show your Roblox account on the activity, with your avatar replacing the small Roblox icon.

You may also notice that the second image of LOCOfficial shows extra info about the game, while Natural Disaster Survival doesn’t. Game developers are able to control what’s shown on the activity by using BloxstrapRPC and can customise it to their game.

Server location hints

Note: This feature requires activity tracking to be enabled. This feature is also referred to as ‘Server location querying’ in some places.

When you join a server, Bloxstrap can roughly determine where the server is located, and tell you about it. Currently, our provider for this information is ipinfo.io.

This info can be useful when, for example, serverhopping for an optimal server (though this won’t work if you join games too quickly).

Typically it will give you a system notification when you join, like this:

If you didn’t see the notification, you can see the info by opening the activity tracker menu and choosing the ‘Server information’ option.

Game history

Note: This feature requires activity tracking to be enabled.

Need to rejoin a server you were just in, but you’ve left it and don’t know how to find it again? Or maybe you’re wondering how much time you’ve spent in a game?

Bloxstrap keeps a local record of servers you’ve joined that you can easily go back to.

To get to this window, open the activity tracker menu and choose the ‘Game history’ option.

As the text in the window says, this info is not stored anywhere and is only available while Roblox is open. It won’t be useful if you’re closing Roblox when changing to another game.

Don’t exit to Desktop app

Note: This feature requires activity tracking to be enabled.

When this feature is enabled, Roblox will fully close when you leave a game instead of dropping you back into the app, much like how it used to work before 2022.

Caution: This will break certain features that rely on the app to work.

You won’t be able to accept in-game player invites, for example.

Bloxstrap & Bans

Bloxstrap is not exploit software, and does not behave like it. It’s completely clean. You can’t get banned for using it. People who claim they’ve been banned for using it were actually banned for using exploits.

Roblox is not against players using Bloxstrap and they don’t have any reason to be. This fact has been confirmed by Roblox Staff. (source)

What Roblox bans people for and how

There exists software that allows you to hack and cheat in Roblox (most often for executing scripts). These are commonly called ‘exploits’.

These work by tampering with the Roblox client process and invasively screwing around in its memory space. Injecting code, hooking and calling on functions, all that kind of stuff.

The Roblox client has cheat detection to detect this stuff and ban people who use these exploits. However, they don’t ban them straight away.

Roblox strategically bans people in banwaves. They collect detections overtime, and ban all the detected players at once. Rinse and repeat. It’s a common industry strategy to make it harder for exploit developers to tell if they’re successfully evading detection.

What Bloxstrap is and does

Bloxstrap does not touch the Roblox client process whatsoever. It’s completely clean and non-invasive. It does not at all behave like exploits do, so none of the detection systems that apply to exploits can apply to Bloxstrap.

What it does touch are local files that the Roblox client uses. For modding, it’s just stuff like fonts and textures. But this is completely fine, and is all harmless. If anything we were doing here was a security issue, then Roblox could very easily prevent us doing this stuff in the first place.

With Bloxstrap, there isn’t anything to detect that would warrant a ban.

I’ve used Bloxstrap all the time for many years on my main account that’s over 10 years old. Never had any bans for game client tampering. It’s completely fine.

But this person said they got banned after using Bloxstrap!

So? That doesn’t mean anything.

As mentioned before, Roblox does banwaves for these detections. They don’t immediately ban people after they’ve used an offending piece of software. So you can’t correlate this so easily.

For example, it’s very possible that they used an exploit a week ago, then used Bloxstrap a week later, and just so happened to get a ban the day after. That doesn’t mean Bloxstrap caused it. The exploit did.

Without fail, any person who comes to us claiming that Bloxstrap got them banned also happens to have used exploit software.

Using Roblox icons for shortcuts

If you want to use Bloxstrap’s selection of Roblox icons for your shortcuts, here’s how.

First, ensure that you have this option enabled. Be sure you’ve clicked Save to apply.

Enabling this option will extract the Roblox icons to a folder in Bloxstrap’s installation folder. From here, open the properties for your shortcut by right-clicking on it, select “Change Icon”, then “Browse…”, and then choose the “Icons” folder. Kind of like this:

From here, you can choose an icon to use.

A customizable launcher for Roblox players

Bloxstrap’s appeal lies in the customization options it unlocks. Players can change fonts, sounds, and themes, even restoring nostalgic elements like the classic death sound. Discord Rich Presence integration shows game activity directly in a user’s profile, while server region detection helps players identify where they are connected to reduce lag or coordinate with friends.

Available only on Windows, Bloxstrap requires the .NET 6 Runtime but is otherwise lightweight. As an open-source project hosted on GitHub, it has earned trust from players for its transparency. While not officially endorsed by Roblox, it is widely considered safe when downloaded from official sources.

Performance is another focus. The included FPS unlocker removes Roblox’s 60 FPS limit, letting users with capable hardware enjoy smoother visuals. Bloxstrap also offers multi-instance support, allowing multiple Roblox sessions at once—especially useful for content creators, testers, and those who juggle several accounts. Advanced users can experiment with FastFlag editing to access upcoming Roblox features safely on the client side.

Usability is straightforward thanks to a clean interface. Basic features are accessible to all players, while advanced tools require some technical knowledge. Updates are frequent and community-driven, with developers responsive to bug reports and feature requests. The program’s transparent development process reassures users wary of third-party tools. However, Bloxstrap is limited to Windows systems only, and while safe to use, Roblox does not guarantee future compatibility.

Should I Use Bloxstrap Bootstrapper?

Bloxstrap is the ultimate bootstrapper for Roblox, that lets you customize and enhance your Roblox experience with themes, mods, FastFlags, Discord Rich Presence, custom sounds, and more. Bloxstrap is free, open-source, safe, and compatible with all Roblox versions and updates. It is a perfect tool for Roblox enthusiasts who want to take their gaming to the next level.

For Roblox players who want greater control over their experience, Bloxstrap is a versatile and reliable companion. It blends quality-of-life improvements, performance upgrades, and community customization in a way the default launcher does not provide. While its Windows-only support and reliance on external development present limitations, its open-source foundation and proven safety make it a standout utility for Roblox enthusiasts.

Bloxstrap Help

Lets talk about Bloxstrap not working.

×

It’s not launching with Roblox

Problem: Roblox launches, but it doesn’t launch with Bloxstrap features. You don’t see the Bloxstrap launcher show.

To fix this, launch Roblox with Bloxstrap manually once. This will register Bloxstrap as Roblox’s web launch handler.

Don’t launch Roblox through the normal ‘Roblox Player’ icon when using Bloxstrap, as it’ll undo that.

Bloxstrap doesn’t open at all

Problem: Bloxstrap does nothing when trying to run it. No installer, no main menu, absolutely nothing.

This is happening likely because you have an outdated version of the .NET 6 runtime installed.

Be sure that you have the latest version installed. Download it.

Roblox crashes or does not launch

By default, Bloxstrap works almost the same as the standard Roblox launcher. If Roblox normally works, then Bloxstrap should work too. Issues like these are typically caused by bad user configuration such as incorrect FastFlags or broken mods.

Here are some general troubleshooting steps:

  • Uninstall Bloxstrap without keeping user settings
  • Launch Roblox normally and check if it works fine
  • Reinstall Bloxstrap and check if it works fine
  • Add your settings and mods back — checking Roblox after each change

Ideally, whichever step last works is the setup you should keep. If Roblox does not work even without Bloxstrap, then the issue is with Roblox itself.

Discord Rich Presence not working

1. Discord privacy settings Check your Discord settings and make sure that your activity is set to be shared with others.

2. Administrator issues Rich Presence will not work if Discord is installed as Administrator. If you see a User Account Control prompt (pictured below) every time you start Discord, then you have it installed as Administrator. To fix this, just reinstall Discord.

3. Multiple conflicting clients Discord Rich Presence will only properly work with one Discord client. Ensure you only have one open and running.

Change where Bloxstrap is installed

1. Move the installation folder Yeah, it’s that simple. Moving the folder is all you really need to do. By default, Bloxstrap’s installation folder is at %localappdata%\Bloxstrap (expands to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Bloxstrap) After you move it, you will need to open the folder, run Bloxstrap.exe, and re-enable any shortcuts you had in the settings menu. You’ll also need to delete the old ones.

2. Reinstall Bloxstrap When you install Bloxstrap, it gives you the option to choose where you want to install it. You’re only provided this option when installing, so reinstalling will let you do this.

Uninstalling Bloxstrap

To uninstall Bloxstrap, you uninstall it like any other program on your computer. Here’s how: Open the Settings app Go to the Apps section. (On Windows 11, look in the sidebar for this) Search for Bloxstrap, select it and click Uninstall

No results found.
